Artist’s Proposal for ᗢ Resthaven Care Center

Using calm, neutral tones performing as a continuous field, proposed is a series of flora-and-fabric oriented still-lifes; articulated by evocative outlines and playful-looking foliage, gentle, brightly-hued landscapes create a feeling of joy and serenity for the residents and staff of Resthaven Care Center.

The compositions are designed to be simple, subtle, pleasing.

This series will be designed to produce a warm, cultivated domestic environment and to be attractive without overtaking, with a range of viewers in mind.

Each of these sketches could be expanded to any size in oil or acrylic paint. I propose taking inventory of which walls require art and tailoring the size/content to areas in need.

Medium is proposed to be acrylic and chalk and some mixed media on canvas.
Canvases can range from 24” wide to 60” and 24” height to 48”. 1.5”-3” deep.

Another option is to create digital drawings and to print them on canvas, which can be bought pre-stretched and framed. This would be significantly cheaper, although I would also want to paint on the surfaces to break up too much glossy reflection.
